Repair work after a vehicle struck a house
LME attended this emergency house repair in Derby after a car crashed into the property. The October photographs record the damage and the team at work during the initial repair stage.
This is a progress record. It shows the response and preparation for repair, rather than a completed reinstatement.
The damage recorded
The images show cracked external brickwork, damage around the entrance and window area, and broken masonry inside the room. Interior photographs reveal the extent of the opening and debris left by the impact.
Temporary support during the repair
Later views show temporary props beneath the opening, with the LME team working around the damaged wall. These photographs document how this particular job progressed; the support arrangement and repair requirements depend on the individual building.
Following the repair
The gallery brings the damage photographs and the work-stage images together. Further updates can show the reinstatement once that work has been recorded.
For related work, see building repairs and impact-damage renovations, or read the Derby repair photographic story. Our Holbeach fire-damaged flat renovation shows a separate restoration project through to the completed rooms.
