A property repair project in Spilsby
Lee introduced this job as work connected with a subsidence claim. His 16 October update records kitchen removal, flooring strip-out and repairs to walls and finishes across the house. It is a record of the agreed building work, rather than a structural diagnosis or confirmation that the original ground movement has been resolved.
Repairing cracked areas
Lee described taking back plaster and opening mortar joints before installing resin and helical bars in the affected areas. Expanded metal lath mesh and scratch coats formed part of the preparation for a new plaster finish. The repair specification must relate to the particular property; these photographs are not a guide to treating cracks without assessment.
Issues found behind the finishes
Removing the kitchen and flooring exposed areas where a levelling compound had not adhered to the material below. Lee identified bituminous material that needed asbestos testing; no positive test result was provided in the filmed update. He also described finding plasterboard extending down to the floor and bridging the damp-proof course in an affected area.
Opened ceiling areas show the older construction and the preparation for replacement finishes. The photographs show work in progress and do not show a completed kitchen or finished repaired rooms.
